Pacific Palms Property Drives Dobel Central Project Forward

Building on the strong support that retailers and shoppers gave Hagen Central, Tininga and Steamships broke ground on Dobel Central which will be developed by managed by Pacific Palms Property. Located strategically on the Highlands Highway, Dobel Central will have 9,732 square metres of Leasable Retail Area across 36 commercial retail outlets: Stage 1 will be completed in 2026 and will be anchored by a new Tininga Dobel Supermarket and 11 retail spaces. Stage 2 will be completed in 2027and will add 24 outlets. Dobel Central will have 212 parking spaces within its secured fence. Some of the parking spaces would be bigger to accommodate the buses and trucks that ferry nearby villages.

The Dobel Central groundbreaking ceremony on 25th April 2025 was attended by representatives from the Keme, Kulkukgam Yamka Pepka, Elte Panambu, and Moge Kokonka, the traditional landowners of the area, by government officials; Minister for State Enterprises Hon. William Duma, Western Highlands Province Governor Hon. Wai Rapa, and Commissioner General for the Internal Revenue Commission Sam Koim, Western Highlands Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent John Sagom, the Western Highlands Province business and greater community, and by business leaders like Tininga Managing Director Patrick Duckworth, and Steamships Managing Director Chris Daniells.

Staying true to the Melanesian tradition where village building skills are passed to the younger generation, Pacific Palms Property are orchestrating a team of international architects, engineers, and contractors with local service providers and skilled staff to build a place that generates commerce and employment as it serves the people of and visitors to the Western Highlands.
