Senior Accountant

About the Role:

The job functions include preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, generating monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.  It also includes overseeing and maintaining accurate general ledger records, reconciling and analyzing accounts, and implementing internal controls.

Additionally, the position requires collaborating with auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations, and addressing audit findings. Tax compliance duties involve preparing and filing corporate tax returns, staying updated on tax regulations, and responding to tax inquiries.

Furthermore, the job involves identifying opportunities for process improvement, streamlining and automating financial processes, effectively communicating financial information to stakeholders, and collaborating with other departments. Leadership responsibilities include leading, coaching, and directing accounts staff, providing on-the-job training, and assisting team members with challenges.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Accounting and Finance.
  • Minimum six (6) years with supervisory experience.
  • CPA PNG Member – necessary.
  • Proven track record of managing an operational budget across multi-locations.
  • Solid ERP financial systems and reporting knowledge and understanding.
  • Ability to present business reports and initiatives to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and coaching ability.
